Chief executive officer for county government and the presiding officer over county court. The Judge approves and authorizes disbursement of all appropriate county funds, operates the system of county roads, administers ordinances enacted by Quorum court, accepts grants from federal, state and private sources, hires county employees, has custody of county property and presides over Quorum court without a vote, but with power to veto and appoint members to all administrative and advisory boards.
