The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program - (SFMNP)

(SFMNP) is a USDA funded program that provides low income seniors (60+) with coupons that can be exchanged for locally grown eligible foods (fruit, vegetables, honey, and fresh cut herbs) at participating farmer's markets and roadside stands. In Arkansas the SFMNP is available in nine counties of northwest Arkansas, as follows: Benton, Carroll, Boone, Marion, Baxter, Washington, Madison, Newton, and Searcy. To enroll in the SFMNP a person must be age 60 or older, live in one of the participating counties, and have an income level within 185% of the poverty level. FEMA Assistance for Tornado and Storm Survivors

Arkansas homeowners and renters affected by the recent tornadoes and severe storms that occurred May 26, 2024, who lie in counties that have recently been designated for Individual Assistance, may apply for help from FEMA. Disaster assistance may include financial help for temporary lodging and home repairs along with other programs to assist families recover from the effects fo the event.As soon as it is safe to do so, residents are encouraged to start cleaning up. They should take photos to document damage and begin cleanup and repairs to prevent further damage. They are urged to keep receipts from all purchases related to the cleanup and repair.NOTE: Application deadline is July 30, 2024.

Urgent Care clinics serve as an alternative to hospital emergency departments for episodic care that can not be delayed until an appointment at a physician's office is available; and are often equipped to provide services not generally available in primary care physician offices, e.g., have x-ray facilities that allow for treatment of minor fractures and foreign bodies such as nail gun injuries and/or minor care trauma rooms that facilitate the repair of minor and moderate to severe lacerations that can be treated in an urgent care center.
