Eligibility is determined based on income, resources, Arkansas residency, and other requirements. Personal care services referred by Superior Senior Care are primarily based on the assessed physical dependency need for "hands-on" services with daily living activities. These include: eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting and ambulating. Hands-on assistance in at least one of these areas is required to qualify for Personal Care under Medicaid. This type of assistance is provided by a personal care aide based on a beneficiary's physical dependency needs (as opposed to purely housekeeping services). The tasks the aide performs are similar to those that a nurse's aide would normally perform if the beneficiary were in a hospital or nursing facility.
