The Aftercare Program is specifically designed for youth who have been committed to the custody of the Division of Youth Services for delinquent offenses. The Aftercare Worker works with the youth and family during the DYS treatment placement as well as upon the youth's return to the community to ensure a smooth transition back into the home and community and to reduce the likelihood of further delinquent behavior and advancement in the juvenile justice system.

Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) specialists provide intensive services to meet the employment needs of disabled veterans and other eligible veterans, with the maximum emphasis directed toward serving those who are economically or educationally disadvantaged, including homeless veterans and those with barriers to employment.Local Veterans' Employment Representatives conduct outreach to employers and engage in advocacy efforts with hiring executives to increase employment opportunities for veterans, encourage the hiring of disabled veterans and help veterans to gain and retain employment.

ADEM trains volunteers to rapidly inspect structures after a catastrophic event (earthquake, tornado, high wind, fire, etc). These trainings are free and offer 6-8 PDH/HSW continuing education hours.

They are frequently the first emergency personnel at the scene of a traffic accident or medical emergency and may be called upon to put out a fire, treat injuries or perform other vital functions. They also rescue victims and provide emergency medical attention as needed, ventilate smoke-filled areas and attempt to salvage the contents of buildings. Duties may include the fire prevention, emergency medical service, hazardous material response, search and rescue, and disaster management. They are also a safe haven for abandoned newborn babies.
