They are frequently the first emergency personnel at the scene of a traffic accident or medical emergency and may be called upon to put out a fire, treat injuries or perform other vital functions. They also rescue victims and provide emergency medical attention as needed, ventilate smoke-filled areas and attempt to salvage the contents of buildings. Duties may include fire prevention, emergency medical service, hazardous material response, search and rescue, and disaster management. They are also a safe haven for abandoned newborn babies.

Victim Services - Child Advocacy

A Child Advocacy Center, CAC, is a community-based facility which uses a multidisciplinary approach to reduce trauma to child victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect. Collaboration exists between medical, mental health, prosecutorial, child protective service, and law enforcement professionals in a effort to serve the best interests of young victims. To assist with the healing process, services for non-offending family members of victims are also found at a CAC.

Special Olympics Arkansas

An international program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities which features a variety of sports and games. Children must be age eight or older to compete. Special Olympics events include alpine skiing, aquatics (swimming, diving, flotation races), athletics (running and track and field), badminton, basketball, bocce, bowling, cross country skiing, cycling, equestrian, figure skating, floor hockey, golf, gymnastics, powerlifting, roller skating, sailing, soccer, softball, speedskating, table tennis, team handball, tennis and volleyball. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.

T.J Guitar & Music Program

Each year, the Club presents guitars to contest winners during the annual FSBGC Musicfest held in July at the Evans Boys & Girls Club. Guitars and pianos are made possible through an annual TJ Guitar fundraiser.The TJ Guitar program supports music instruction at the clubs.GUITAR LESSONS are provided 'free' of charge for club members enrolled in the program. Microtransit allows Rock Region METRO to provide on-demand transit rides using smaller vehicles within a set zone, during regular operating hours, via its METRO Connect on-demand service. A passenger trip on a METRO Connect vehicle costs the same fare rate as a trip on a METRO bus: For an Adult One-Way Ride Cash Fare, it's $1.35 per trip. The METRO Connect on-demand service averages a total wait and travel time of 20 minutes or less Rides need to be scheduled through the Transloc Microtransit App, by calling the Metro Connect ride booking number, or by utilizing the Customer Service Team at the River Cities Travel Center Sales Office.The METRO Connect John Barrow Road zone contains spots that have not previously been served by non-paratransit public transit service. Those spots include CARTI Cancer Center in Little Rock and Camp Aldersgate and other locations along Aldersgate Road.The METRO Connect Riverdale Zone includes front-door service to the downtown Little Rock train station (Amtrak), the Coolwood Neighborhood, Holcombe Heights, Apartments, Rivercliff Apartments, Tree Top Condominiums, The Cliffs Condominiums, the Arkansas Department of Heritage and Dillard's Corporate Office.

A Medicaid program that can help families with children younger than 19 years old who have a disability receive care in their homes rather than an institution.The TEFRA program can help pay for the cost of those services for eligible children. Some families will not have to pay anything as part of the program. Others pay a premium on a sliding scale, depending on their income.Note: Children who live in an institution or receive extended care in an institution are not eligible for TEFRA.
