This library is part of the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) network. It is a free service of the Arkansas State Library, providing popular books and magazines in unabridged recorded format (cassette and flash memory) and in braille to all eligible Arkansans. All Arkansas library for the blind patrons have access to and may borrow materials from the National Library Service (NLS) for the Blind network's catalog of over 365,000 titles in recorded or braille format. Free loan of books, playback equipment, and adaptive equipment as necessary.

AIS is specifically designed for individuals with a persistent, chronic mental illness and primarily uses the Rehabilitative Day Services model. Individual, family, and group therapies with a licensed mental health professional, as well as adult life skills/ case management, are also available through the AIS programs.

Gift ideas include sweat suits, pajamas, non-slip socks, house shoes, plain colored t-shirts, etc. For many residents, especially those with no family, these may be the only new items they receive in a year.A Drive-Thru Event will take place on November 30th at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Drop-off locations will be available through December 16th at the Project Compassion Office, various First National Bank branch locations, the Hampton Inn - Van Buren, Spirit 106.3, various Simmons Bank branch locations, and Arkansas Best Federal Credit Union.

Program provides assistance with reopening clients coverage. If community members lost coverage because they failed to provide requested information, they still can provide that information and have their coverage re-opened. They have 30 days to do so after their closing date if they qualified for Medicaid under Long-Term Services and Supports eligibility rules. They have 90 days after their closing date if they qualified for Medicaid under Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) eligibility rules.If one loses their card, they should call 1 (800) 482-8988 as soon as they notice their card is missing.NOTE:DHS is beginning the renewal process for ALL Medicaid beneficiaries NOW! If community members receive any request from DHS in the mail, THEY MUST RESPOND WITHIN 30 DAYS. Responding within 30 days allows community members to stay on their current Medicaid program or receive an automatic referral to the new program they may be eligible for. Not responding may cause a person to lose Medicaid Benefits.If one cannot upload their files using the website, they can submit items one of these ways.
