CJS operates a basic center emergency shelter known as the Western Arkansas Youth Shelter (WAYS), in Cecil, Arkansas. The service is available on a 24-hour basis for up to 60 days for youth who are at risk of becoming involved in the juvenile court system, for delinquent youth, or for runaway or homeless youth. Together with the WAYS staff, the CJS Caseworker works with the youth and family to resolve the existing problems in order to achieve reunification of the family. Services are provided to runaway and homeless youth through Federal funds received from the Administration for Children and Families, Family and Youth Services Bureau.

Program dispenses summary justice and deals with local administrative applications in common law jurisdictions. A Justice of the Peace is a local magistrate empowered chiefly to administer justice in minor cases, to commit for trial and to administer oaths and perform marriages.

Individuals who are responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires and responding to emergency situations where life, property and-or the environment are at risk. They are frequently the first emergency personnel at the scene of a traffic accident or medical emergency and may be called upon to put out a fire, treat injuries or perform other vital functions. They also rescue victims and provide emergency medical attention as needed, ventilate smoke-filled areas and attempt to salvage the contents of buildings. Duties may include fire prevention, emergency medical service, hazardous material response, search and rescue, and disaster management. They are also a safe haven for abandoned newborn babies.

Centers serve as focal points for senior services in the community with emphasis in Health and Wellness issues. Program provides congregate meals, homebound meals, transportation, Elderchoices, socialization & recreational activities.

Personal care services referred by Superior Senior Care are primarily based on the assessed physical dependency need for "hands-on" services with daily living activities. These include: eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting and ambulating. Hands-on assistance in at least one of these areas is required to qualify for Personal Care under Medicaid. This type of assistance is provided by a personal care aide based on a beneficiary's physical dependency needs (as opposed to purely housekeeping services). The tasks the aide performs are similar to those that a nurse's aide would normally perform if the beneficiary were in a hospital or nursing facility.

Program is a form of Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) that is paid to an eligible adversely affected worker on a weekly basis after he/she exhausts entitlement to regular unemployment compensation, including state and federal extensions.

Provides information and referrals about assistive technology devices and related services for persons with disabilities of all ages. Funds Clearinghouses to increase individual access to technology by being a source for: demonstration, trial before purchasing particular devices, training in their use, short term loan of equipment for evaluations, recycling equipment and sponsoring a consumer network by which to sell, trade, donate, and list wanted equipment.

Program provides assistance with reopening clients coverage. If community members lost coverage because they failed to provide requested information, they still can provide that information and have their coverage re-opened. They have 30 days to do so after their closing date if they qualified for Medicaid under Long-Term Services and Supports eligibility rules. They have 90 days after their closing date if they qualified for Medicaid under Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) eligibility rules.If one loses their card, they should call 1 (800) 482-8988 as soon as they notice their card is missing.NOTE:DHS is beginning the renewal process for ALL Medicaid beneficiaries NOW! If community members receive any request from DHS in the mail, THEY MUST RESPOND WITHIN 30 DAYS. Responding within 30 days allows community members to stay on their current Medicaid program or receive an automatic referral to the new program they may be eligible for.
