It involves assessing the individual's current condition, determining the underlying cause of their emotional distress, and creating an appropriate treatment plan to help address the individual's specific needs.Through various methods such as counseling, medication, lifestyle changes, or other treatments, a mental health team works alongside the individual in order to achieve long-term recovery and prevent further episodes of distress. Mental health stabilization provides essential support and guidance throughout this challenging journey of healing.

The Office of Emergency Management handles controlled burns, burn bans, and fire services including volunteer fire departments for Polk County.

Provides shelter, food, clothing, doctor's appointments, transportation, restoring id cards or social security. Also assists with finding jobs, getting medical care, and finding housing.

Program provides a two-year transitional living program for low-income single mothers with up to two children ages 10 and younger. Participants are housed in a fully furnished apartment with private kitchen and bath for each family. One bedroom and efficiency units are available. Rental amount includes all utilities and basic cable. Residents must sign a lease and pay a deposit and rent. Provides an Emergency Food Pantry and household accessories to residents. Please be advised there may be a waitlist.
